Roles & Permissions

FoundersBoxx uses roles to define what users can access, plus granular feature-level permissions for fine-tuned control.

Roles

Assign roles when inviting team members. Each role has different default access levels.

Owner — Full access to everything. Can transfer account ownership. Only one owner per account.

Admin — Full access to all features, settings, billing, and team management. Can invite and remove users, manage permissions, and access all financial and HR data.

HR Admin — Full access to team management features: employee profiles, evaluations, compensation, and equity. Limited access to financials and investor data.

Finance Admin — Full access to financials, forecasts, actuals, and accounting integrations. Limited access to HR and team data.

Employee — Standard team member access. Can view their own profile, evaluations, and features enabled by permissions. Cannot access sensitive financial, compensation, or admin settings.

Feature Permissions

Beyond roles, admins can customize exactly what team members can access for each feature. Go to Account Settings → Permissions to configure.

Each feature has three access levels:

No Access — Cannot view or interact with the feature at all.

View Only — Can see the feature but cannot make changes.

Full Access — Can view and modify.

Configurable Features

Communication & Updates — Newsfeed posting permissions.

Strategic Planning & Tools — Business Model Canvas and Lean Canvas access.

Financial Transparency — Financial Model Summary (high-level) and Detailed Financial Analysis (granular breakdowns, cash flow).

Investor Updates — Access to investor communications and reports.

Company Metrics & KPIs — Access to metrics and performance indicators.

Use these controls to balance transparency with confidentiality. Some companies share financials openly; others restrict access. Configure based on your culture and what makes sense for your team.
